On the 4th and last day of the 2022 Belgrade World Wrestling Championship that began at 8:30 Tehran time, the games in 61, 56 and 97 kg were held in the Serbian capital city.
In 61 kg Iran’s Olympics champ freestyle wrestler Reza Atri beat his Macedonian competitor Basir Ali Lee 11-1. In the next match he beat Safar Islam Barzganov from Azerbaijan Republic 4-0 to reach the quarter final, which he won 6-1 versus a Bulgarian wrestler.
Atri in that match faced a wrestler from Mongolia, whom he beat 5-1 to reach the final.
But he lost the final versus the Olympics silver medal holder Ri Higuchi in only three minutes 10-1 to win the world silver medal.
